attribute NC_GLOBAL summary String Measurements of physicochemical parameters of seawater along a vertical line obtained out at a given location from the sea surface to the bottom. Temperature and conductivity, which is related to salinity, are the basic parameters that are measured as a function of depth and presented in the form of a vertical profile. Other sensors are frequently added to the conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) profiler in order to measure other parameters such as dissolved oxygen concentration, fluorescence and transmissivity.
